Mary Joy Ewers, 93, of Mason City, passed away peacefully at the Primrose Retirement Community in Decatur, Illinois on March 16, 2025.
Mary was born in Mason City on December 24, 1931, to Koert and Helen (Spangler) Renken. She was a 1949 graduate of Mason City High School, and upon graduation began a 61year career at the Mason City National Bank. She was organist for the Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City for over 60 years. Mary married John Wendell Ewers of New Holland, Illinois on July 23, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1987. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and three brothers, William, Delbert and Wilbur Renken.
Mary is survived by her two children Susan (Chuck) Soderstrom of Smith River, California, and John M. Ewers (Marla) of Forsyth, Illinois; her five grandchildren, Marianne LeGreco, Leanne LeGreco, John R. Ewers, Nathan LeGreco, and Meridith (Michael) Ewers-Stenson; her 5wo great-grandchildren, Oliver LeGreco and Rylan LeGreco; and her beloved
