Shirley Ann Parker, 87, of Kilbourne, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Mason City Area Nursing Home. Shirley was born June 3, 1937, in a farmhouse in Rock Creek in Menard County to Clifford and Mary (Mohn) Buchanan. She married Robert Lee Parker on October 27, 1958, in a double ring ceremony with her sister, Betty. Shirley graduated in 1957 from Petersburg Harris High School. Shirley continued to stay in touch with several of her classmates by phone. During her working years, Shirley would haul grain for Robert during harvest on the farm he worked. When it was property tax time, Shirley worked at the courthouse in Petersburg. She also cleaned houses and worked at Smith's Christmas Tree Farm.
Shirley had a heart of gold. This showed with family, friends, and animals. She also had a great relationship with the Lord. She was a member of New Lebanon Baptist Church. Shirley was an animal lover. She loved cats, taking in many, many strays over the years. Shirley rescued "Sassy" wi
